Business venues are required to remit payment to the appropriate Performance Rights Organizations (PROs) related to the type of entertainment provided in their venues.
Unlike consumer music services, all content on Loop is fully licensed for business venues. Loop TV pays all record label licensing fees on behalf of our clients no matter what subscription or plan you have. However, all business venues are required also to remit payment to the appropriate Performance Rights Organizations, or “PROs” (ASCAP, BMI, SEASAC, GMR, etc.).
The amount paid is directly related to the type of entertainment provided in each venue (i.e. music, music videos, network TV, jukebox, live performance, sports, etc. As well as other factors like the size and capacity of the venue, the number of TVs in the venue, etc.)
With our free ad-supported music plan plan, Loop takes care of the licensing agreements with the labels and guilds for you. If the video is on Loop, you are cleared to play the content in your venue.
For our premium music video service subscribers, Loop can assist in ensuring the appropriate payments are made to these organizations for you by passing along the optional additional PRO fees you pay Loop directly to the PRO companies each month (for content provided by Loop only). Since the majority of business venues also offer other types of entertainment in addition to Loop, most usually pay for blanket coverage.
Ask your PRO representative to see if Loop’s optional PRO coverage would help to lower your direct fee. Or contact us if you have further questions. You can sign up for or cancel the Loop PRO coverage at any time.
